COURSE OVERVIEW

  • The complete Geography IGCSE qualification covering the Cambridge International specification

  • International GCSE students in Years 9, 10 & 11

  • Home school GCSE students in Years 9, 10 & 11


ASSESSMENT

  • Assessment is via three written papers:

Paper 1: Geographical Themes, 1 hour 45 minutes, 75 marks weighted to 100 - 45%

Paper 2: Geographical Skills, 1 hour 30 minutes, 60 marks - 27.5%

Paper 4: Alternative to coursework, 1 hour 30 minutes, 60 marks - 27.5%

  • Choice of Summer (May/June) or Autumn (November) exams

CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL AS AND A LEVEL GEOGRAPHY

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • The Geography A-level qualification covering the Cambridge International Specification as a whole, or as discrete modules 

STUDENT PROFILES

  • International students in Years 12 & 13

  • Home school students in Years 12 & 13 

  • Re-take students in Year 13

ASSESSMENT

  • Assessment is via four written examinations at the end of the A level course:

Paper 1 Core Physical; 1 hour 30 minutes; 50% total AS level marks; 25% total A level marks

Paper 2 Core Human; 1 hour 30 minutes; 50% total AS level marks; 25% total A level marks

Paper 3 Advanced Physical Geography Options; 1 hour 30 minutes; 25% of total A level marks

Paper 4 Advanced Human Geography options; 1 hour 30 minutes; 25% of total A level marks

  • Choice of Summer or Autumn examinations
